IPL treatment

Dark discolorations, also called pigment spots or red skin (couperose, rosacea), give a restless skin image, making the skin look older. Age spots, sun damage pigment, excessive freckles and blood vessels can easily be treated with IPL laser. So don't keep walking around with it any longer!

Therapy

At Skin Project we can treat pigmentation spots and redness easily, safely and effectively. An effective method to remove superficial pigmentation spots and redness in the face and décolletage and to even out the skin is Flash Light Therapy, also called Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). At Skin Project we work with the Lumecca of the InMode system.

Due to the correct light distribution and built-in cooling system, the Lumecca is suitable for all skin types, even for pigmented skin.

Each pulse emits a flash of light with a spectrum of wavelengths. This special light absorbs the reddish brown color of the pigment spot / blood vessels in the skin. A flash of light feels like a small prick in the skin, a short heat sensation, which disappears immediately after the pulse. An additional advantage is that the heat in the skin stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. The handpiece contains a cooling system, which makes the treatment well tolerated.

Safety and quality are of course the most important to us. That is why all lasers we use have a medical CE and FDA approval. You are in safe hands at Skin Project and will always be treated by an experienced and registered skin therapist.

What effect can you expect?

Due to IPL treatments, pigmentation spots will fade or even disappear completely and you will get an even and fresh look. In addition, the collagen in the skin will be stimulated and this will lead to skin tightening. With peelings and microneedling, the skin structure will refine, which will reduce pores, wrinkles and discolorations. This creates a fresher skin color and a smooth and even skin.

The recovery of the skin after an IPL treatment takes about 7 to 10 days. On average, 1-3 treatments are required, with an interval of 6 weeks.

How you deal with sunlight after treatment determines the maintenance of the treatment results. That is why we always pass on to our clients: daylight is sunlight, the best pigment suppressor is to apply at least a cream with SPF 50 every day! Prevention is better than cure. Make sure to maintain the results you have achieved and continue to protect your skin daily all year round. We find it extremely important at Skin Project to provide honest and transparent information.

Important to know

After the treatment, the pigmentation spot/red veins can become darker in color. After about 7 to 10 days you will notice that the pigmentation spot / red vein is reduced or even disappears due to the exfoliation of the skin. On average, 2 to 5 treatments are required, with results being visible after each treatment. We are ready when you are satisfied.

Reimbursement health insurance

Treatment for pigmentation spots, couoperosis/rosacea in the face can possibly be reimbursed under camouflage therapy from the additional health insurance. The amount of your reimbursement depends on your insurance. In the case of reimbursements from the supplementary insurance, no claim is made on your deductible. Skin Project is recognized by all health insurers.

What is the difference between melasma and pigmentation spots?

Melasma is a chronic skin condition in which the skin has a permanent sensitivity to producing too much pigment due to hormones. Fortunately, there are more and more treatment options to treat this stubborn skin condition. Where pigmentation spots are relatively easy to treat, melasma is more of a challenge.

Is the treatment painful?

The treatments are not completely painless.

What should I take into account for the treatment?

For best results, we recommend avoiding direct sunlight as much as possible 6 weeks before the treatment. Do not use self-tanner in two weeks before the treatment.

What should I take into account after the treatment?

For best results, it is important to let your skin recover after the treatment. Do not scratch any scabs or skins. Under the influence of hormones and sunlight and daylight, new pigmentation spots can appear. We achieve the best results with laser therapy in combination with pigment-inhibiting and bleaching products. And it is also important that you apply a sunscreen with a mineral SPF50 consistently (every 2 to 3 hours) when you are outside.
