Who performs the treatment at Skin Project?

To guarantee quality and safety, Skin Project works exclusively with qualified skin therapists. Our skin therapists have completed a four-year HBO training so that they can perform the treatments professionally. Our skin therapists are all members of the Dutch Association of Skin Therapists (NVH). The professional association plays a facilitating and monitoring role by developing and making quality instruments available. Our skin therapists are also registered in the Paramedics Quality Register. The purpose of this register is to remain recognizable as a paramedic, to promote quality improvement and to make specific expertise visible to the outside world. Criteria apply to registration in the Paramedics Quality Register with regard to work experience and the promotion of expertise.

Canceling the appointment

We only ask that you cancel an appointment if absolutely necessary. If you are unable to keep an appointment, we ask that you inform the practice by telephone or email as soon as possible. In that case, the reserved time can sometimes still be used to help someone else. If you do not show up for the appointment, or if you cancel by telephone less than 24 hours before the start, we are forced to charge the costs of the treatment.

Reimbursement health insurer

With additional insurance for acne treatment for the face, camouflage therapy for the face and neck and hair removal (laser hair removal) of the face, you may be eligible for reimbursement from your health insurer. Ask your health insurer about the rights to reimbursement and the associated policy conditions.

Do I need a referral letter from the general practitioner/dermatologist?

At Skin Project you do not need a referral letter from your general practitioner, dermatologist or medical specialist. As a skin therapist we are 'directly accessible'.

Will the full amount of the treatment be reimbursed?

With many health insurers you will receive a high one-off reimbursement. You will then have to switch every year to be sure that you can go through the entire treatment process with insurance, without having to worry about whether it will still be reimbursed.

Do I have to pay for my treatment myself or does it go directly through the health insurance?

After the treatment you pay for this yourself. You can pay with us by card or cash. After this you will immediately receive an invoice from us by e-mail, which you can submit to your health insurer. If you are entitled to reimbursement, your health insurer will pay this to you.

Does the treatment come at the expense of the deductible?

No, treatments such as acne therapy, permanent hair removal and camouflage therapy are reimbursed from the supplementary insurance and are not at the expense of the deductible.

All our employees treat patient data confidentially. The patient record is securely stored in an automation system for skin therapeutics practice. What is the difference between a skin therapist and a beautician?

The advantage of a skin therapist compared to a beautician is the level of education and thus the medical knowledge. With a skin therapist you can count on very expert and reliable advice. A skin therapist is a paramedic with a higher professional education who is always retrained and familiar with the new insights and developments within the field. At Skin Project we meet strict requirements and we work with a quality system. We are a member of the NVH professional association and we are registered in the quality register of paramedics. We also have a BIG registration and a partnership with doctors and other disciplines. Reimbursement from the additional health insurance is possible for medical indications. A skin therapist focuses on skin improvement and skin problems. A beautician generally has an MBO diploma and focuses on the care and beautification of healthy skin and does not have a protected title.

Are treatments by a beautician also reimbursed?

Previously, treatments at specialized beauticians were sometimes reimbursed. Health insurers are stricter about this these days. Many insurers now state in the policy conditions that a treatment is only reimbursed if it is performed by a skin therapist.

I have a party, premiere or wedding, can I also come to you?

To ensure that your skin looks fantastic at a special moment in your life, it is wise to make an appointment a few months before this date. This way we can see together what options there are for your most beautiful skin!

I don't have any skin problems, can I also visit you?

Absolute! Anyone who would like to have beautiful skin or who would like to maintain the skin preventively is welcome.

I am pregnant, can I also visit you?

Yes, some treatments are allowed. Certain treatments such as SkinPen, light/laser therapy, medical peels and coagulation therapy cannot be performed during pregnancy.

I've already tried everything. How do I know if Skin Project can help me?

In recent years we have treated a lot of people with both dark and light skin. There may be several reasons why it has not worked before. For example, due to a non-optimal treatment technique/products, too little knowledge of different skin types or insufficient information or aftercare.
